Who's going to be next to get married?

That was the question posed by my niece, Julie, at the wedding of my nephew Tom, last year in Connecticut.  Was it going to be her sister or brother? One of my boys? One of my brother Tom's kids?  I'm not sure who was the favorite and who was the long shot, but it didn't matter. They all would have been wrong.

In the spring my dad met a really great lady who lives in the same senior living community.  He met her in church, though, not through the social activities at the "Grove."  Since they are both a bit older than 85, neither felt the need to wait to get married.  So on October 10th, surrounded by their children and grandchildren, they did just that.  

. 

The church was beautiful.  The bride was beautiful.  The groom, handsome in his tuxedo.  They wanted it simple, but their happiness made it simply beautiful.

My brother, Andrew was my dad's best man and Kay's first daughter-in-law was her matron of honor.

Oh, and the conversation about who's getting married next, is still going on......

Remembering Memorial Day...

I've been somewhat remiss in not getting these posted and I feel guilty.  Better than never, I guess.

When my boys started in Scouts, this parade became a priority for our family.  I am so proud that Dan has chosen to continue to participate.

Miss "M" made her First Holy Communion!

I can't tell you how thrilled I was to be able to witness and record this milestone in her life.

These pictures need no words, although a couple in particular were inspired by a couple of aunts with a bad influence.

She shared her dress with her sister.  Her veil was worn by one of her grandmothers at her wedding.  She's got a pearl bracelet pinned to her skirt (not allowed to wear jewelry) that belonged to her other grandmother.  Even her middle name comes from her ancestors.

I'm working on this one!  Her mom gave me the camera but I quickly delegated the job.  I need an assistant once in a while, so I might as well start her now!

I may be a little, well okay a lot, prejudiced, but I think she's a beautiful child, inside and out. Full of fun and always laughing.  I was successful, however in catching a little bit of the spiritual side of her for these portraits.

What a difference seven minutes can make!  

After the storm...

Yesterday Mother Nature showed some of her not-so-pretty colors 

with a powerful storm that has left devastation throughout a good part of the ti-state area.

My neighborhood seems to have been in a bubble.  I saw barely a broken branch or downed leaves anywhere along my walk this morning. 

Just after the storms last night, though, Mother Nature showed her amazing,

breathtakingly beautiful self.

How can not believe God had a hand in this.
